Anita Bok (Board Member) grew up in Antwerp and graduated from Antwerp High School (AHS) in 1983. She married her husband Bob, also an AHS graduate and Vantage alumnus, that same year. The Boks have four children, all of whom have graduated from AHS: Steven, Class of 2004; Ryan, Class of 2006; Whitney, Class of 2009; and Lindsey, Class of 2017. She also has one grandson, Kainen, a kindergarten student at Antwerp. Anita attended Northwest State Community College for accounting and the Ohio Bankers League School of Banking. Over the years, she has served as a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, CCD teacher at St. Mary's Church in Antwerp, and a member of the Antwerp Music Boosters. Anita is currently serving as the President of the Paulding County United Way Board and as Treasurer of the Antwerp CIC. She is also a member of the Friends of the Library and the Great Escape book club at the Antwerp branch library. She is employed as the Compliance Officer at the Antwerp Exchange Bank. Anita has worked at the bank for over 25 years and has been in the banking field for over 30 years. Anita is now starting her 20th year as a member of the Antwerp Local School Board and has enjoyed serving in this role over the years. She says, “Antwerp is a great community to live, work, and raise a family in, and our local school is the greatest asset of this community. I am proud to have been a graduate, parent, and board member of Antwerp Local Schools."
Robert Herber (Board Member), a 1978 graduate of AHS, married his high school sweetheart Sonya Hicov, a 1979 Antwerp alumnus. They have been married 44 years and are blessed with two children, Julie and Bob Jr., both graduates of AHS. They also have 5 grandchildren: Camden, Amaya, Gabriella, Elizabeth, and Dexten. Bob received his Associate's Degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology from UNOH in Lima, Ohio. Bob is a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, a volunteer firefighter for Crane Township/Cecil Fire Department, and an instructor of Firefighter I and Firefighter II at both Vantage Career Center and Bryan Fire Academy. Bob has had the pleasure of serving on the Board of Education for 23 years. His first term was from 2000-2012. The biggest accomplishment during this tenure was gaining community support for the construction of a new Pre-K-12 building. “Going through the financing, designing, and building of the new school really made me appreciate the time, effort, and dedication of the faculty, administration, and staff who make up one of the best school districts in Northwest Ohio.” After a two-year break, Herber was re-elected to the Board of Education in 2014 and currently serves as the Legislative Liaison.
Jayme Landers (Vice President) began her service on the school board June 29, 2017. Jayme is a 1996 graduate of Antwerp High School and a graduate of Sarasota Travel School. She worked for United Airlines for a few years and then met the love of her life, Jason Landers. Jayme has worked for the Paulding County Prosecutor’s Office for the past 23 years as an administrative assistant. Jason and Jayme have been blessed with two boys, Jayvin (a recent graduate of Wittenberg University) and Jagger (a junior at the University of Findlay). Jayme served as PTO president when her boys attended elementary school and currently volunteers to help with various activities at the school. Jayme is a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and loves to spend time with her family and friends. She believes our future lies in the children of today and feels the Antwerp Local School system strives to empower its students. She is honored to serve as a member of the school board and represent a voice for the Antwerp Local School District.
Dennis Recker (Board Member) began his service on the Board of Education in January of 2012 and has served as vice president and president of the board during his tenure. Recker and his wife Monica have five children: Kyle, Kiana, Kennadi, Kaden, and Jack. Recker is a graduate of Leipsic High School and the University of Toledo with a degree in finance. In addition to his service as a member of the Antwerp Board of Education, he also serves on the Vantage Career Center School Board; is an advisor to the Ohio School Board Association investment committee; and volunteers his time with the Paulding County Economic Development Corporation, Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, and the Antwerp Rotary International. Recker has worked in various positions for the Integrity Ford dealership for the past 30 years. Dennis says, "I am so proud to serve and represent the Antwerp community, and I am very proud of our school. Our students, staff, and administration do a great job upholding Antwerp Local Schools as an excellent educational institution in Northwest Ohio."
Sara Schuette (President) has lived in this community for over 30 years and has been a board member since 2016. Sara is married to Shawn; they have two children, Blake and Grace. Blake is pursuing a Doctorate of Optometry at The Ohio State University. Grace is starting her career as a hair stylist in Antwerp. Sara graduated from Antwerp in 1993 and attended The Ohio State University in 1997, graduating with a degree in physical therapy. She is currently a Director for ProMedica Total Rehab with oversight of the Ohio regional hospitals and Evidence Based Practice for the system. She has worked for ProMedica Total Rehab for the last 25 years. Sara is also an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, supports functions of the Antwerp Athletic Boosters, and supports various activities at the school. She is very excited to continue to serve Antwerp Local School as school board president and be a part of the amazing academic success that our school has come to represent.
